Hotfoot is an auto-runner game with a pixel art style created by designer Andrew "Schai" Schaible and developers Liam Roy and Ethan Ross. The game was created as a submission in New England Institute of Technology's 2021 Game Jam in which the theme was Heatwave. The original alpha was created in under 24 hours. We hope you enjoy!
Story

Hotfoot is a squirrel that overslept during a volcanic eruption. Help him escape before he becomes toast!
Controls/Instructions
-----
Press A and D to dodge oncoming logs as you run from lava!
Press Spacebar to jump over logs!
Collect Acorns for points!
Reach 500 feet to escape the lava and save Hotfoot!
If you lose all your hearts, it's game over!
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated, we plan on refining the game and adding more features, so let me know what you think is awesome and we'll see what we can do :)

Install instructions
Download the attached zip folder. Once the file has been downloaded, open the zip folder and run the Hotfoot.exe file enclosed. Keep the .exe file inside the folder otherwise it will not run. Enjoy Hotfoot!
